When asked about this by Channel 3 TV News, he responded on camera by saying:"My Mother will be very proud of the fact that Rush Limbaugh personally attacked me." She is. He was elected to serve two terms on the Board of Directors for Amnesty International USA (1988-92) by its 200,000 Members. Amnesty has also condemned the mistreatment of the POWs in Guantanamo, along with Human Rights Watch and the International Committee for the Red Cross, which has supervisory jurisdiction for the Third Geneva Convention.
